I have finally acquired some Americone Dream. I must say that it is the best and most legal form of iced narcotic avaliable!
In other news, day one of two of the Alternative Press Expo is done and over with... I did better than last APE at this point. I'm interested in seeing how well I do tomorrow. I believe all the changes I've made to the booth have helped out, enough to at least feel a bit more confident about my luck tomorrow.
At today's booth, I spent a lot of time mulling around some new thoughts. It's all basically the same stuff I've thought about in the past; which is good because it only strengthens my concerns.
I really REALLY need to work hard on finishing off Moose River. It occured to me that I probably should have done my stories about working retail first, because no one seems to care about some dark-humor dramedy about a bunch of moody 20-something-year-olds. A comic about working would have been far more accessable. But then again, I am continually reminded that Moose River is my throw-away story, something just to practice with, so it's actually a better idea to have done Moose River first. I really REALLY need to get a non-mini-comic book done up. Which means I really REALLY need to finish those damn comic revisions! I really REALLY need to figure out how to shape-shift into a girl during these conventions. I can't put my finger on why it happens, but I've noticed many times that booths run by girls manage to sell more books and garnish more attention than my booth. What's your secret, girls???
I say it constantly, but I like reaffirming all this... boothing is a great experience. If I manage to gain the skills and experience to be able to sell my snake-oil of a comic to people, then it will be a sinch to sell any of my future, more substantial comics in the future.
OK, I'm done.
